CD Reviews

The greatest Puffy album and perhaps J-pop of all time!
consumer123 | Los Angeles, CA | 08/12/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Although some might say the more recent "Fever Fever" is their greatest album, I think "Jet" is just incredible. I had been an off-and-on J-pop fan for a while before this album came out, but one listen to this, and I knew I was in J-pop heaven. Every subsequent release including "Fever Fever" (good, but spotty) and "Spike" (hmmm...) seemed to be either trying to recapture the magic of "Jet" or diverge on some new styles that didn't quite work for me. If you're at all interested or like Puffy, this is THE album to get no matter how expensive. I easily listened to this at least 23 times...a week back in COLLEGE."
JET CD - Puffy's Greatest Hits
Posniak | Tokyo, Japan | 01/07/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"If you look at JET CD as a greatest hits album of sorts (5 hit singles, all of them excellent), then it is a great album. However, the whole thing doesn't fit together so well as a standalone album. It is worth every penny though, just for those 5 singles alone. Very diverse sounds: from disco to the Beatles to the 50's. JPOP at its finest. Here's the track listing:1. JETTO keisatsu 2. kore ga watashi no ikiru michi 3. CAKE IS LOVE 4. ai no shirushi 5. haru no asa 6. REMON KIDDO 7. kobijin 8. NEHORIINA HAHORIINA 9. tetsugaku 10. DE RIO 11. SAAKITTO no musume 12. nagisa ni matsuwaru EKUSETORA 13. MOTHER"
This album is tops!

"Ami and Yumi surf all the styles of the American rock & roll! Some songs sound like the Beatles, some sound like the Who, one even sounds like Black Sabbath, but Ozzy, Roger Daltry or John Lennon weren't nearly as cute and happy as Ami and Yumi! Top notch production and songwriting by Tamio Okuda, a Japanese star in his own right! Also, Puffy has worked with Andy Sturmer of the San Francisco band Jellyfish! If you don't like this album, chances are you're a really mean and disagreeable person! And in that case, who cares about what you think?!"
