"I first heard Quartetto Gelato on National Public Radio, playing live on "Talk of the Nation" a few years back and was immediately impressed. I am a rock musician/songwriter, but I have dabbled in opera thanks to my parents' involvement with a local opera company. It was great to hear the music of Cavalleria Rusticana, as I was in the opera back in the 60's as a child of 10years or so. It brought back nice memories. I beleive most of QG's works are well-thought, well-executed, and sometimes humorously presented, or should I say "playfully presented"? Many "Bravos!!!" to Quartetto Gelato from one musician to another. Get any album by this group. They always have great and clever interpretations of classic pieces. You will not be disappointed!"
My favorite!

"Rustic Chivalry is the one album I would take with me to a desert island. This is not "heavy" classical that requires a lot of musical sophistication. The album is made up of "tunes" such as a tango, a Hungarian dance, and a madrigal or two. The heartrending aria is sung with a sly wink. This is lighthearted but it's not that fluffy fake-classical style either... Listening to Rustic Chivalry always makes me smile!"
