"We have all heard Losing My Religion on the radio or on the astonishing album "Out of Time." The song is an enigmatic melody fuled by a mandolin stum (joke intended) that sent shockwaves throught he music industry for good reasons. The video for the song won MTV's video of the year and the song topped charts through 1991. If this isn't reason enough to buy it, you have the simply provocative "Fretless." This B-side, also used for the soundtrack for "Until the End of the World" (also recommended) is haunting, with a stunning vocal display from Micheal Stipe and backing by bassist Mike Mills and the ever-lovely Kate Pierson of the B-52's. "Fretless" is easily one of the most provocative tracks R.E.M. has ever produced."
