A breath of fresh (and original) air

"Too old for the charts and too young for Beth Orton, it was a relief when a mate pushed this CD into my hand and insisted I listen to it. The album is familiar sounding enough to make it easy on the ear but if you're so inclined you can pick out some of the intricate and (one must assume) lovingly crafted detail in every song. Mr. Rae's scratching is a marvel and all of the tracks shimmer with craft and finesse. Check out 'Counter Culture' in Manchester for a live PA from Mark. Worth the cash twice over for the album, if you fancy a real treat. Go on, it's only a finger of fudge!!"
