"I studied the trumpet through most of my early years ( age 6 thru 20). My mother purchased this album when I was twelve years old. She woke me up for school at 7AM and played this album for me very softly. I was absolutely flabbergasted at Mr. Mendez's ability and uncanny technique. I had never before or since heard anyone, and I've heard them all, double and triple tongue with the ease and agility of Mr. Mendez. This CD should be required listening for anyone who plays the trumpet, or just enjoys musical genius. Mr. Mendez is a trumpet players' trumpet player, and should be an inspiration to anyone whose lips have ever graced the mouthpiece of a trumpet."

"As a child on New York I had all of Rafael's LP's and thought that this was the best trumpet playing ever. Now to have him in CD's will be my ultimate collection because even though I still have his records, They are worn by the constant playing."
