"I believe this to be Raging Slab's first release, unless there is someother, less available gem out there somewheres. Anyhow, I first got hip to Slab when they proceeded to blow the Red Hot Chili Peppers off the stage in Detroit during the Mother's Milk tour. I was advised by some idiot/friend outside the theatre that "some 70's rip-off band" was on stage. I think my life changed shortly thereafter... Raging Slab became one of my fave bands off all time, not just because they hit me so hard live, but upon further investigation I discovered their music to be a very unique blend of undeniable, ballsy riffs, funk (as in "funky"), soul, southern comfort and psychedelia. They somehow manage to package all of these elements into tightly-knit SONGS! Gregory Strezempka, the creative tour-de force behind the band (singer,songwriter,producer) is a freaking genius if you ask me... clearly, he has a vision and he sticks to his guns consistantly.This, as most first releases, will simply hint to a fine work in progress. It will moisten your palette for the RCA, self-titled debut "Raging Slab"... a barnstorming major label effort. It only gets better, folks... their later releases, "Dynamite Monster Boogie Concert" and the latest, "Sing Monkey, Sing" will satisfy any rock and roll fan, I'd wager. Do yourself a favor, buy this and prepare for the road ahead..."

"This is one of Slab's finest. I have been listening to Raging Slab since 1989 with their self-titled first release. I have been unable to locate any mention of it online however, and I feel that this is a grave injustice to true Slab fans. As their first CD is also an awesome piece of work."
