"After a five year hiatus, NYC native Rahsaan Patterson ends his silence with his third effort, "After Hours." The album, as of this writing, is only available as an import, but if there's any justice (a rare thing in the music industry), it will have a Stateside release very soon. Here, Mr. Patterson makes a welcome step forward from 1999's "Love in Stereo," and he ropes in the red-hot Van Hunt who co-writes and co-produces 4 of the 11 tracks here. Among those, the best are the tender slow jam "The Best" and the breakup jam "Seperate," which bring out the best of both artists. Elsewhere, Patterson's Stevie Wonder-like voice is well served on nu soul jams like "I Always Find Myself," the pretty "April's Kiss" (which stands out mainly due to its solid instrumentation and soulful guitar), "So Hot" which sounds like a missing track from "Stevie's "Songs in the Key of Life," and the funky "The One for Me." While platinum success continues to elude him, "After Hours" shows that Patterson is an underrated talent waiting for that breakthrough record. Hopefully, this CD will be it."

"This young man can sing his azz off! He is very UNDERRATED!
I saw him in concert this past summer in Chicago, and it was great.
Pick this cd up along with his other 2. You won't be disappointed.
He can also be found on various movie soundtracks, i.e. Hoodlum (song Streetlife)"

"This album isn't available in the US yet, but it is Rahsaan's best yet. Van Hunt returns to give Rahsaan a few songs such as the Stevie Wonder-esque 'The Best'. Although I heard a few of these songs before ('So Hot', 'You Make Life So Good' and 'The Only One for Me' are either from soundtracks or compilations released in 2002), the first two songs are extended versions on this album and 'The Only One for Me' is worth hearing again. 'I Always Find Myself' and 'April's Kiss' are my favorite songs on this album. I wish that this Kids Incorporated alum would get the recognition he deserves."
