CD ReviewsRain Definitely Delivers!! Kenny G | Marietta, Ga United States | 04/19/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This 3 piece Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop ensemble truly displays a unique vocal blend, soulfulness and class on every song. They also have a style that's all their own. RAIN is comprised of brothers, Sulimon Wiggins, Ashanti Wiggins, and Cousin Clarence Isler who combine their voices in cutting-edge harmony. These Christian young men deliver an inspirational message with a universal appeal that challenges their mainstream counterparts (Dru Hill, Boyz II Men and Jodeci among others) on the same level. "Intro-The Arrival" is a pretty slick track which has sound effects of a helicopter and airplane in the background. Next is the finger poppin', head a bobbin' title track "Get It Right" that has street-edged R&B laced with slick vocals. The writing on this CD is exceptional especially on the tracks "Turn My Back On You" and "Old Man New Man." The production is professional and tight with Barry D on the boards. And for my younger peeps there's the hip-hop bangin' urban flava "Above The Hype." Yo' all the R&B cuts on this CD are very smooth and soulful! "Down On My Knees" is one of my favorite R&B cuts on the project! Take one listen to "Crossroads" and you'd swear you've heard these guys somewhere before hmmmm! "When it Rains" provides that Dru Hill sound that some of you might remember. Oh man, I'm really feelin' this joint! The lead singer on most of the tracks kinda reminds me of Woody Rock! RAIN even has a traditional track "Give You the Praise" that will have you on your feet hands raised giving praises to God Almighty. I really felt the Holy Spirit on that joint! And if that don't do it listen to the instrumental song "Outro-The Call" which is very inspirational. All the songs seem to fit the group's personality vocally! Each song allows them to venture through the tightest harmony and chords which really projects off the CD. I've always loved 3-part harmony in a group and RAIN definitely delivers!"
