CD Reviews

In this case, talking about stars is absurd

"Ram Narayan is One of the Greatest Musicians in the World. For me, the sarangi is the 'cello of Indian music and he is the Casals & Rostropovich of his instrument. Once you have heard Ram Narayan, you will not be able to resist purchasing everything that he has recorded, which is not a lot. He is a Master, an Inspiration, and a truly Great Artist. You will feel fortuntate to partake in his ART."
Simple components, incredible depth

"i don't know much of anything about indian music, but this seems pretty legit. these guys really know how to play. the sarangi is like the indian equivalent of the violin, and ram narayan knows the instrument well. everything is emotionally timed well, it progresses, morphs into different time signatures and tempos, different modes, all kinds of weird stuff. really powerful experience. everything in there is really genuine. nothing gratuitous. i reccomend this to anyone who wants a nice break from rock, hip-hop, reggae, or just western music in general."
Wonderful and endagered...

Over time I have grown to enjoy this raag immensly. Next is the any time raag; the often played Mishra Bhairavi. Ram Narayan..."
