4-Tay is back

"4 years since his last album, Rappin' 4-Tay is finally back with a giant step int he right direction for him. First hearing 4-Tay on Too $hort's "Life is...Too $hort" album nearly 20 years ago in the late 80's, it's nice to see him still in the game. Starting in 1994, his album have been on a slight dcline (I don't have his "Bigger than da Game" album from 1998) His "Don't Fight the Feelin" was a great album, "Off Parole" was very good, "4 Tha Hard Way" and "Introduction to Mackin" were pretty good, his last album "Gangsta Gumbo" was so-so, so he returns with a very solid album here, after a 4 year break. With 13 songs on here 5 are ok, the other 8 are good or real good songs. Guests are on 6 songs, doing only the hook on 2 of them, so you still get a nice deal of 4 Tayzey. production is nice too. TC does 9 songs, Sean T does 2 and E-A Ski does 2. A great album for his fans to have.

4-Tay's Best Album since "Off Parole"

"Wow! This is 4-Tay's best work since "Off parole". A HUGE improvement from his last album "Gangsta Gumbo". Production wise, this album is tight start to finish, despite the fact that it's a departure from what you'd expect from 4-Tay. Meaning, 4-Tay actually favors futuristic beats (Timbo, trackmasters, ect.) over his usual west coast G funk style. Producers TC, E-A-Ski, CMT, and Sean T do a brilliant job at fusing the pulse around 4-Tay's laid back delivery. That's not to say the real star here isn't 4-Tay....his delivery is tight throughout the entire disc. As far as standout tracks, there are several but here are my top 4. On "intro" 4-Tay kicks some game over a pulsing beat about his hometown, representing Frisco! Tight, and great opener to a fantastic album. The track "Charger" is as good as anything out right now and could definitely be a hit for 4-Tay with the right marketing. Same goes for "Highway", which benefits from an impressive collaboration with Shorty B. "Live from the 415" is a dope track with a host of guest rappers from the bay. However, my favorite track on the disc is "Heavy Paper" where 4-Tazie weaves verses of fire around an old school beat with some killer piano flurishes and a pimped out chorus. The rest of the disc is pure butta as well. Nice Work 4-Tazie!! With the right marketing this could be a well deserved hit for a playa that's been in the game for nearly 20 years."
