Classics from Cover to Cover to Cover....

"Frankly, this is something I'm surprised other Christian artists hadn't done before. Ray Boltz takes 11 classic Christian songs from the 70's and early 80's and rerecords them. And it's a wonderful collection. The songs alone are worth the price of the CD. He's got the familiar ("Great is the Lord from Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins' "Awesome God," "People Need the Lord" by Steve Green, "O Lord, You're Beautiful" by Keith Green) and songs not as well known today but well known back in the day ("He's Alive" Don Francisco's signature song, "Rise Again" by Dallas Holm, "We Will Stand" by Russ Taff, "If that Isn't Love" by Dottie Rambo). Most of the time, he stays true to the original songs, just updating the arrangements slightly. There are a couple of missteps, like the drums on "He's Alive" and again on "Rise Again." But these songs don't suffer too much, and it's a minor annoyance overall. This is a great place to get a sampling of classic Christian music or for nostalgia buffs to go and remember some classic songs."

"RAY BOLTZ has really touched my life his inspirational songs from God. This is not from me alone but also from a lot of my good friends in Nigeria.
Ray has a special gift from God which enables him to carry his listeners to the actually scene of whatever he is singing about. He has demonstrated this in all his album I have: Concert of a life time(I dreamed I went to heaven & I will praise the Lord), No greater sacrifice(What if I..?), Honor and Glory(the last to be chosen), Season Changes(I think I see gold),Another Child(Ballad of william Joe) and all the tracks in The Classics. Coincidental I was out today (Nov. 13 2001) to check if Ray Boltz has released any album after the Classics and when I Couldn't find it in the stores, here I am searching through amazon thereby dropping this review.
I pray that God breath of inspiration will continually be poured on Ray Boltz on daily basis. Amen."
