Synopsis
Amazon.com Dads are generally known for their rollicking and good-natured rough housing. In this compilation album, though, they proudly show their softer, sweeter side by expressing love and devotion through music to the special little people in their lives. From the poignant title cut, "Daddy's Lullabies," and cuddly "Baby Bear's Lullaby" to the humorous "Waffle Dreams" and '50s doo-wop "Goodnight Sweetheart," the range of musical styles here has a strong appeal and tiny tots will enjoy the soothing, gentle tunes. A unique feature of the album is that it includes instrumentals, which when combined with the included lyrics allow dads (and moms) to sing, karoake style, to their little sleepyheads. --Deborah Moore Similarly Requested CDs

CD ReviewsA WONDERFUL ALBUM 01/15/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is a beautiful album, gorgeous, sweet, and poignant. Diane Levine indicates in the liner notes that she and her late husband David wished to show that "dads can be just as nurturing as moms" and was inspired by his relationship to his daughter. The very first time I played it my seven year-old daughter fell asleep in my arms as she said "Dad, this is beautiful." Among the many beautiful songs "Saving your sleepies," "No sweeter music," and "Butterflies and Turtles" are particularly poetic. The music on this album is accessible to adults and children alike. The mix and the technical quality of this recording are both superb. What a generous and profound legacy for a man who must have been a wonderful father." We are in love with this CD Myra J. Byrd | Houston, TX United States | 06/08/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "After 5 children (now ages 18 years to 4 months) I feel qualified to say this is my favorite lullaby CD ever. I bought it for my husband and we use it to get our two youngest children to bed each night. The remakes of the oldies (Daddy's Home, Devoted) are superb, but what we love most are the beautiful melodies and lyrics of the original songs. At the end of the CD are instrumentals and my husband puts those on and sings the lyrics to our babies each night. If you want a good cry, read the dedication. The co-writer of the songs died after this CD and this is his final love song to his daughter!"
