"When CHINA first came out I was hooked!Fantastic song!I was a young kid then, never had any money,so I bought the 45.I played it like crazy and read about them in Cream magazine. They said they started as a punk band and the angry "b"side of the 45 VOICE OF AMERICA attested to that ethic.Well, many years later I'm an adult and can afford albums(CDs,in this case)and was delighted when I saw this sitting there. This CD has both their big label LPs,and are both excellent new wave pop rock that will have you humming.Someday I hope to hear their punk records.A great band!"
Some Great 80's Rock

"This CD compiles both of the group's mid-80s releases in their entirety. Aside from "China," which was a minor hit on some hipper radio stations of the period, Red Rockers were largely and unjustly ingnored by radio and left undiscovered by the general public. The first CD, "Good As Gold," features sparely produced power-pop with ringing guitars and briskly rhythmic tempos. Their second, "Schizophrenic Circus," is an entirely different beast altogether, going more for big anthemic rockers with a titanic drum sound...somewhat reminiscent of Big Country or a less-pretentious U2 of the same period. Both CDs are equally enjoyable in their own right, each with their share of standout tracks. Good As Gold has the aforementioned "China," while Schizophrenic Circus boasts "Just Like You" and "Blood From A Stone." But there's really not a clinker on either CD...both are solid and hold up nicely to repeated listenings. The songs sound undated and truly timeless.Worth discovering (or re-discovering) if you enjoy first-rate rock with a thinking-man's twist."
Must Have for New Wave Fans

"As someone lucky enough to be old enough to remember seeing these guys live in the 80's, I can vouch for this CD's quality. Unfortunately, their only hit was China, minor as it was, but every track is a nugget to be cherished. In New Orleans, even the "new rock" stations occasionally dust this one off... And by all means, keep NEW WAVE alive!"
RED ROCKERS WILL ALWAYS REMIND ME OF THE 80'S

"The Red Rockers music was simple and hit to the heart. Not trying to be the "hair bands" of the era, Their sound was unique and refreshing. The lyrics of their own songs may seem depressing but mark the time they were written and are always memorable. The cover songs they did are incredible and in my opinion much better than the originals"
SPARKLING CHINA

""China" is one of the great lost pop songs of the '80's. I can't make heads or tails of the lyrics, but those ringing guitars sure are pretty."
