Great entry point for Old-School Comedy

"This isn't your parents's Sanford & Son Redd Foxx! This disc presents a ton of really good routines and one-liners from the man who started "blue" comedy. Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce both come out of this man, and it shows fairly well on this disc. It's not as nasty or blue as some of his other records, but it does show Foxx at the top of his form telling stories ("Letter To A Wife" is incredible, even by today's standards) and joke after joke after joke. The man is an encyclopedia of dirty jokes, and balances his whole act with a strong grip on class, which, considering some of the content, is genius unto itself. You can find dirtier Foxx, but this collection is a great break-in point for any other purchases you might consider. If you like this one, you'll dig the other stuff. If you don't, lean off it all. This is a great collection of material and scope of Foxx's work."

"Before Pryor, Eddie, Martin, Chris Tucker and Chris Rock, there was Redd Foxx. Redd is the the author and originator of Party Humor. He's the true "King of Comedy.""

"This is a hilarious cd it is very explicit but it is funny this is a legend and he is so funny and I would truly reccommend this cd to anyone who likes Redd Foxx he started out at the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York...... This cd is so funny I listen to it all of the time it is explicit so don't listen to it in front of the kids he talks about a lot of things.... But all of the things that he says makes a whole lot of sense!!!!"
