"Surely, if you were to suffer the same fate as the exiled Emperor Napolean did, you would take this CD with you as a wonderful reminder of freedom and how wonderful and joyous El Son is. The interesting thing is, if put to a blind test, you would not know that the recording is not from Cuba, but instead from New York City with musicians groomed both en La Yuma and in Cuba. Anyone who is familiar with the annual, El Baile de Mamoncillo in Queens, NY, will immediately recognize and appreciate what these dudes (Aseres) are playing; un Son...Montuno expropiado de lo más puro! My favorite is "Por Delante, No." Here you hear why Cuba has always produced music of great genius, simplicity and joy. You'll certainly want to dance to this one. Gracias a Matamoro, Nino, Arsenio, Cuní, Chappotín, Chocolate y a Armando Sánchez y René López por siempre plantar bandera. Oh, and let's not forget the assembled musicians for this date. Please add this great CD to your collection of timeless Son music.
