CD ReviewsWe need beautiful music like this... Tara | Berkeley, Ca | 10/17/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "It seems like Remixx dropped their album "Dear Lord" at a perfect time within American history. Gospel and Christian music if often overlooked, but after the tragedy of September 11, 2001, many people have began to mix Church and State--prayer and politics. Sometimes it is nice to listen to something without constant cursing, complaining, and negative attention toward women. In Remixx's album, "Dear Lord," there are many tracks which are uplifting and positive, though they do not lack realism. 'Seven Times a Lady,' about their mother, is lyrically deep, containing discussion about their upbringing and the love they have for their mother. It's a beauitful and motivating track. Also, my favorite track, 'Dear Lord,' is underlined by a smooth, r&b beat with gospel lyrics and prayer. Even people who are not Christian or devoutly religious can relate to this material at this time. Two of my favorite r&b groups are Jagged Edge and Dru Hill, and I think that this album is well worth buying. Also, don't forget that Sisqo from Dru Hill started out in church choir, being discovered by a girlfriend who was turned on by his voice! Many of the greatest r&b singers have gospel influence so support a group who deserves the attention!
