"This is a great example of an under rated and under recorded guitarist. Rene Thomas is a true musical genious. And anyone fortunate enough to by this album can hear a great musicain starting to develop into a brilliant one. As Sonny Rollins once said, "Why would i hire an American, when i know a belgian guitarist that i like more." With this early recording you can really hear the impact that Tal Farlow had made on him as well as his teacher Django Rienhardt. The tunes on this album are great and the band swings hard. You'll be doing yourself a favor by checking out this 1954 recording of Rene Thomas' Quintet."
