One of her best

"I've been a fan of Renee Rosnes (pronounced "REE-nee ROZ-nes") since about 1990 when I was first turned on to jazz. Her "for The Moment" album was one of the first jazz recordings I fell in love with, and it's been a solid favorite of mine ever since. At first I wondered if my enthusiasm, coming so early in my tenure as a jazz fan, was perhaps "uninformed." But through the years I've become assured that Ms. Rosnes, although unappreciated, is a true giant among post-bop jazz pianists and composers.

Reenee's recordings maintain a consistently high standard with few missteps. She seems to be more appreciated by other jazz musicians than the public at large, so it's understandable how she has tended to draw A-List players to her projects. This one is no exception: with Chris Potter, Christian McBride and Jack DeJohnette.

The compositions are excellent on this outing--some of her best, and that's saying a lot. Everybody is completely into what's happening here. The whole set is stunningly good. If you're unfamiliar with this woman's music, this is a great place to start."
