"This CD presents an exciting performance of Requiem. I'd like to mention Pinza and Gigli superb singing. Pinza sings excellent both by vocal and spirit, Gigli's singing is some operatic (manner not suitable for requiem mass) but this operatic singing is at its possible best. Serafin's conductng is fast and streamline, has vocally based phrasing throughout the mass. There is' not romantic style of perfromance at all, but it's a firm classic approach that may lead to an authentic performance style of our days. The only disadvantage of the recording is 78 rpm noisy technology of the 1930-s. I think this CD hardly is the good choice to be the first requiem in a collection but it may take high place for advanced collectors of the Requiem."
