"This CD is part of a two volume best of the Residents, released in 1985. Many consider the height of their career to have been in the late 70's and early 80's, so this is a great compilation to get a sampling from that era. I think it is a fair, but not excellent choice of songs to represent the band. But, the purpose of this review is that I have compiled where these tracks are from (since its not in the liner notes), and am including them here if anyone is interested:
1. The Census Taker, 1984
2. Whatever Happened to Vileness Fats?, 1972-1974
3. George and James, 1984 (this particular song was only available on the cassette version of the album, but can now also be found on the 25th anniversary compilation)
4. Commercial Album, 1980
5. George and James, 1984
6. Residue, 1983
7. Tunes of Two Cities, 1982
8. Commercial Album, 1980
9. Commercial Album, 1980
