CD Reviews

Better than the original

(5 out of 5 stars)

"i would encourage all to seek the other reviews of this recording. read them through, then enhance them by 10-20% and you get what should the review of this recording. yes, only pines and fountains are on this disc and if you love those pieces, then this is the recording for you. it is the same recordings that were previously released under the RCA label with fritz reiner and the CSO, but they have been re-processed. the dynamics are increased, the bass is tighter and in more control, the percussion is crisper, the strings are sweeter, and the brass is more powerful. i won't go so far as to say that it is an SACD, but you don't need some silly extra processor to play this disc. it will play in your CD player and make it sound much better than the original recording. this is an absolutely fabulous recording, my favorite disc, and very highly recommended."
