Lee B. (showme) from PARK HILLS, MO Reviewed on 1/17/2010...
Another KSHE-95 classic in St. Louis, from when I was a wee lad. With the line up in this band, (Dimeola, Clark, Corea & White), how could it be anything but good? Progressive jazz rock fusion at it's best!

Eclectic mix from the foremost pioneers of contemorary' jazz
07/23/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)
"This eclectic mix is a fine representation from one of the foremost pioneering groups in contemporary jazz. Founding members, Chick Corea, Al Demiola, Lenny White and Stanley Clarke have influenced more musicians in the genre' than any other group before them. Their musical progency is amply demonstrated on every cut on Best of RTF. Even after 20 years, the talents and abilities of the individual members is evident. The production values still hold water after 20 years. If you've never heard RTF before, do yourself a favor, you won't be disappointed. RTF was only the seed, the full grown flowers are still out there doing it better than ever."
Best of late-era RTF

(4 out of 5 stars)
"Fairly good collection, definitely some good stuff here, but be aware that this is the late-era, "big band" version of RTF. The _real_ good stuff is earlier editions of RTF (see "Return to the 7th Galaxy"), but this version isn't bad, and also acts as a good intro to Chick's following solo albums (Mad Hatter, Leprechaun, etc.)."

"The Best of Return to Forever is a starting point to get the group and individual efforts of some "GREAT MUSIC".If you like the best of RTF I encourage listening to other cds by RTF because it is so incomplete.Start with "Romantic Warrior"."
