CD ReviewsClassic Blue Note Funk with a little cheese for filler- Daddy-o | Beatsville, USA | 12/08/2003 (3 out of 5 stars) "This is some classic Blue Note Funk, but you will have to search the world to find it or prey they re-release it. The title track and "Hot Rod" are worth any price. There are a few filler tracks to sift through-some songs just are not that good no matter who plays'em (cheesy cover tunes)like "Say a Little Prayer". Oh well-I am still completely stoked that I found this (from a record shop in Spain)-fits nicely in any Jazz collection. Start your search engines." Rueben Wilson is an Acid Jazz maniac. Cool stuff. Peter J. Swingle | 04/24/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "Give this CD a listen, it is well worth any price, tight grooves, and outstanding organ work make this a must for jazz and funk keyboardists to check out. Other recomendations include, ALL of the Blue Break Beats albums, since they contain work similar to this one, and the Greyboy Allstars. I've also noticed that many GBA fans also enjoy Medeski, Martin, and Wood, including myself." Groovy Shizzle Peter J. Swingle | Phoenix, AZ USA | 07/03/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "I love all those late '60s/early '70s B-3 organ trios. They just lay back and groove like there's no tomorrow. This hits right in the sweet spot where you bob your head and tap your feet to the beat because you just can't help yourself. If you like this, also check out Lonnie Smith, Robert Walter, Lou Donaldson, Jimmy Smith, Soulive, and, as mentioned above, the Greyboy Allstars."
