"Like the other reviewer, I have searched far and wide for the best performances of these works, and always I come back to this phenomenal CD. The romance and precision of these interpretations are second to none, and Previn's affinity for jazz makes him a perfect fit as an interpreter of another man who straddled the two worlds of jazz and classicism. I feel that Gershin's ideas are brought to life as he might have imagined them when he composed these works. The symphonic performance, the overall sound and mix, and the piano are all as close to perfect as I've heard."
I've listen to all that I have been able

"Of the many renditions of "Rhapsody In Blue", I find the LSO and Andre Previn to be superior to all the others. Even Previn and the Pittsburg Symphony can not compare. Levant plays Gershwin is interesting, but I find Previn's Piano much lighter than Levant's. He (Levant) seems to play with the same brooding temperment that he lived by, and Rhapsody In Blue is not a brooding piece. If you are a fan of Gershwin, this cd is a must."
