"Rhett Akins left Valdosta, Georgia on a football scholarship to the University of Georgia. He didn't stay in Athens long though. Friends urged him to pursue his writing and singing in Nashville. He did and "A Thousand Memories" is his first release. From top to bottom, a solid work, it truly sparkles in three places. "She said 'Yes'" is remeniscent of high school angst and small town hopes fulfilled, while "I Brake for Brunettes" pokes fun at us good ol' boys and our affection for good ol' girls. The real kicker on this CD is "That Ain't My Truck". A rockin' lil song about three staples of country music, trucks, girls and heartaches. This song alone is worth thne cost of the CD"

"Heart to Heart has been one of my favorite songs period...I've always hope that he would someday see the light and release that song...Definately #1 quality song...The rest of the album is excellent but I never much get past 'Heart to Heart'. 'That ain't my truck' is also a favorite and one that I like to sing kareoke...Highly recommended..."

"Rhett's debut CD has some wonderful tunes on it, although it could do without "Those Hands." I'm still gonna give him 5 stars, though, cuz Rhett's awesome! He's the best performer and the cutest thing you will ever see! "I Brake For Brunettes" is reason enough to buy this CD, but the rest of it rocks, too. His ballads are heartbreaking and touching. Buy it! Also, buy Rhett's other two CD's, too! He doesn't get near as much credit as he damn well deserves!"
