CD ReviewsBillboard's Album Of The Year Steven Washburn | Berlin, New Hampshire | 11/30/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Rhonda's second CD of Bluegrass Music. This one was Billboard's "Bluegrass Album Of The Year" She has a voice of an angel, that goes along with her looks. Listen to her play the mandolin & fiddle. That will prove she was blessed with talent too... (5+ Stars)" Great Country music the way used to be Steven Washburn | 02/20/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Rhonda Vincent is one of only a few artists that sings the way the original country music was back in the beginning. Along with being beautiful she has a sweet voice that makes the words easy to understand. Her music band plays very crisp and clean, a joy to listen to. Great CD. 5 Stars." Rhonda IS a dream come true for all bluegrass fans Peter Durward Harris | Leicester England | 06/23/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "Rhonda is one of the most important ladies in bluegrass. Together with Claire Lynch, Alison Krauss and others, they helped raise the profile of bluegrass in recent years, not only recording excellent albums of their own, but singing backup for mainstreanm country singers, especially Dolly Parton.I've got most of Rhonda's albums (will somebody please re-issue Written in the stars?) and all the one's I've got are brilliant, including this one. Which one is the best? I can't say - I love them all. Most of the songs are covers, but they are often obscure, so you won't find anything here that's been over-recorded. Perhaps the best-known is Going gone, which Kathy Mattea had a country hit with in the eighties. The other covers include A far cry from you (Steve Earle) and Lone star state of mind, a song popularized by Nanci Griffith. All in all, a wonderful album with plenty of variety to enjoy. If you enjoy bluegrass (perhaps you enjoy Dolly's Grass is Blue collection?), buy this, after which you will be tempted to buy all her other albums, and you will enjoy them all."
