"This is the first solo album by the bass singer from the Bobs. The main difference between this and a Bobs album is that this is not an a capella album. Richard plays keyboards and electric bass on all the tracks. Most of the songs also feature saxophone, and there is also clarinet, guitar, trombone, mandolin and drums. So, that is quite different than the Bobs albums. There are two tracks here which were previously recorded by the Bobs. "Too Cool to Care" is Richard's anthem for "wanna be beatniks", which is rearranged here to give it more of a beatnik jazz type feel. "Helter Skelter" is one of the oldest songs in the Bobs repertoire, and this version actually features all the original Bobs singing on it. It is a very different version, sort of a dance remix featuring saxophone solos. As for the "new" songs, they show a different side of Richard than is displayed on his Bobs recordings. His unique sense of humor is not as much on display here, other than subtly on a few songs like "Let's Go Crazy" and "Everything Happens for a Reason". Mostly, the songs allow him to display his serious side. This is an interesting change of pace for Richard, and I think Bobs fans will enjoy hearing it."
