Not bad, different

"As someone who thinks Kirk is underrated as one of the greatest techno producers, I find this album less accessible than most of the others from a fidelity standpoint. Although some of the elements such as the dubby grooves are familiar, the production quality here appears to me to be more raw, or stripped down, than smooth. With the occasional distorted vocals and other sounds prominent in the mix, the album leans more in an industrial direction than many of his other projects, thus may be more suitable to people who like both dance music, which this still mostly is, and industrial, a la Klinik. The first track is especially experimental, and I wouldn't have guessed who it was. I do like the music, just not as much as some of the funkier things he's done. Still, there are enough highlights here that for a rabid Kirk fan it would be a worthwhile addition to a collection. I only gave 3 stars because it's below the 4's and 5's I would give to all his other work as a solo artist, not because it's crummy. More accurately would merit a 7 or 8 out of 10."
