"Loving two Richard Harris grand mega-hits from the late sixties the classic "MacArthur Park" and the majestic "The Yard Went On Forever", I found "My Boy" in the early seventies to be a stunning and magnificent heartfelt vocal that was incredibly personal and deeply moving...and the "My Boy" collection is simply an overlooked masterpiece!! Haunting and passionate vocals smolder then soar to magnificent heights then plunge into emotional depths making this collection of classic songs and performances one of the all-time greatest...a mature masterpiece that maybe seemed a little deep some thirty plus years ago today is a totally sublime musical treasure that is a wonderous joy to experience...orchestrations brilliantly showcase what are probably the finest and most beautiful vocals of Richard Harris' great musical career in both "My Boy and "Slides" making this a must-have collection!!! Thank You Raven Records for this masterful and glorious reissue of two classics and to Richard Harris for all of the years of greatest in entertainment...you are truly missed!!!"

"FINALLY! That is my one word to describe this sublime CD Set. As founder of the Richard Harris Club Association (R.H.C.A), and Long-time devout fan, I am beyond ecstatic that this set has been released. I have hoped for years that these would be released! Raven Records deserves an award for this. Now, If only they would put "I, In The Membership of My Days" and "Jonathon Livingston Seagull" on CD, then it would be even more perfect."
I think it's his best...

"I was stuck on "My Boy" when it first came out on vinyl and 8-track and I've been waiting for it on CD. Finally, it came out and after years of not hearing it, I still remember every word. Some people may not like this album because of the "downer" ending, but that's life and Richard Harris' voice took it to the end. Harris is far from a singer, but the songs he sings fit his voice and style. If you have a chance, get "My Boy"; you won't be disappointed."
Truly a tramp shining

"how wonderful to have these complete albums available on cd. they may not have been commercially popular but they will always be a part of the soundtrack to my life. some times overly theatricalbut always world weary Richard Harris. the Jimmy Webb songs are terrrific but the personal, autobiographical contentpertaining to Harris is interesting. saw him in person in the early 70's in concert with this music and it was more than a treat. he's missed but not forgotten."
A Voice in the Wilderness

"About the time Richard Harris was making some of his best movies such as A Man Called Horse and Man in the Wilderness (the latter with it's own extraordinary soundtrack still lacking in CD), He was also making songs that could bring tears from the gods with Jimmy Webb. My Boy is a collection of some of their best known work, while in Slides, every song seems to be part of a greater whole. Like the tracks within The Yard Went on Forever album, Slides takes the listener on a journey. This journey is less desperate and involves not just sufferings, but triumphs and lessons learned. The arrangements are almost impossible to describe in their quirky beauty and Harris's less than perfect voice is somehow perfect in its delivery of these songs. Two songs were omitted from The Yard Went on Forever on CD, however this one seems to be intact. Hopefully, the Powers-that-be may one day learn not to mess with perfection."
