This not an album which hits you right away. Its a slow burn of an album. If you like a variety of music; tin pan alley to electronic overlays to '50s falsetto this could be for you. It's certainly never boring. "Hallelujah Goodnight!" "The First Time" and "Bat Coma Motown" remain standouts for us, although we've slowly been won over by the entire album and keep it in constant rotation. I've even found songs I didn't originally care for, like the title "Atlantic Ocean" incredibly charming when done live with more jaunty piano and less electronics.

Worth the listen, as are all of Swift's albums including Dressed Up for the Letdown. The guys from Wilco enjoyed that so much they mixed this one for him at their Chicago studio.
