"Once you realize this is not Ricky, but a quite different artist and get over your disapointment, it's really a quite good record. So open your ears to something unexpected and be pleased."

"My husband and I feel privileged to have gotten to know Rick personally. He is warm, friendly and a real crowd pleaser. Since moving to West Palm Beach 5 months ago, we have been hooked on his music. In fact, whenever family and friends have come to visit, we make it a point of taking them to see him in person. We've also purchased this CD not only for ourselves, but also as Christmas gifts for family and friends. My folks, who are in their late 80's and 90's even enjoy this CD whenever we're in the car. Buy this CD, you will definitely be pleased.
Kudos to Rick."

"Saw Rick live in West Palm couple weeks ago. Enjoyed his music and performance. Purchased his cd and have enjoyed listening to his Buffet/Dire Staits style of music. This is not the Ricky Nelson of "Ozzie and Hariett"."
It's time to recognize "the other" Rick Nelson

"Twelve or 15 years ago it was sort of the "in" thing in Florida clubs and night spots to introduce him as "the other" Rick Nelson, so no confusion was caused with the late teen idol "Ricky" Nelson. Now it's time for fans and the public to give some musical credit to a genuine balladeer of the old school. About 10 years ago as the overnight talk host on the area's largest AM station, I started inviting local talent, mostly acoustic, to come into the studio live to entertain. I had heard that the late Steve Goodman, a folk icon, often did similar gigs in Chicago, and my offer came at a time when there were fewer and fewer live venues for independent artists. Rick Nelson soon became a popular repeat guest. This album includes "slice of life" classics such as "Three Legged Dog" which have entertained Palm Beach bistro patrons for year. "Let's Get Naked..." shows why some folks say Rick both looks and sounds like a Jimmy Buffet in waiting with the original sense of humor of Ray Stevens at his best. Cruise ships, country clubs, society parties, or singing in road houses where folks passed the hat. Rick Nelson paid is dues with the same heartache, joys, tears, laughter, and struggles of a Freddie Fender or Johnny Paycheck. The album reminds me of the late Gambol Rodgers, who literally travelled Florida like a Johnny Appleseed of classic folk and originial music. I'm no critic, but it's as comnfortable as my favorite loafers to hear a guy who has given so much regional enjoyment on a CD with a wider exposure. I guess Amazon can never have a categor for "The Other Rick Nelson," but since Ricky Nelson is dead ,and maybe except for Garden Party I never found his stuff particularly meaningful, perhaps after 2 decades of his bouncing around, we should salute the remaining "Real" Rick Nelson? It was a surprise to find Rick on Amazon, and I enjoyed the album."
