An awesome "new" track, and a great collection of favorites!

"There are so many Rick Springfield "Best of" collections out there, and they all look and sound alike, with only a few variations here and there. This CD has all of the usual suspects, but a couple of things put it ahead of the pack. The biggest reason to buy this CD is the previously unreleased track, "Lio". "Lio" rings with pent-up frustration and energy, laced with dazzling lyrics, and framed by a hypnotic drum beat. That alone is worth the price of admission. But this compilation is also cleverly packaged and designed, making it doubly worthwhile to all fans and collectors. My one complaint, if I may make one, is that VH-1 did not offer a bit more variety in the rest of the tracks. It seems kind of silly to have an album that serves as a companion to Springfield's biography, which doesn't include such seminal songs as "Speak to the Sky", "My Father's Chair", or anything off of the Karma CD. Oh, well, we can't have everything-but it least we have "Lio"!"

"This 18 song CD is an excellent edition to your collection. Great hits like "Jessie's Girl", "Don't Talk to Strangers", and many more. A wonderful mixture of his most memorable songs. Brings back memories of the 70's, 80's, and 90's. If you are a Rick Springfield fan, this is a CD you must have!!!"
Full 12" mix of "Human Touch"

"I have been a somewhat fan of Rick Springfield since "Jessie's Girl" in 1981. I would play records during my catholic school art class on Fridays and would always be asked to play Rick Springfield a lot. I really wasn't that impressed with him as a child but as I listen to his music now at age 33 it seems more complex than I remember. The first 5 songs are what I would consider New Wave Classics even if he isn't. "Love Is Alright Tonite","Jessie's Girl" and "I've Done Everything For You" rank up as some of the best with Blondie, The Cars ,The Motels and Berlin as new wave /power pop classics. Excellent. I really did love his song "Human Touch" and it is here in it's 7:13 full 12" extended glory. I really loved this song and "Affair Of The Heart" which was more dance than what he did. The hits of "State Of The Heart","Souls","Bop Til You Drop","Love Somebody" and "Don't Walk Away" bring back fond memories. Rick Springfield was really better than most people remember him for and this cd shows that. Excellent 80's music."
