"Well if you are a person that like to relax in a evening with a coffe and with a lot of peace like if you were in a church then this is for you is a very good rick wakeman album in organ and one beutifull piece on piano, the 2cond cd include a short video with rick wakeman playing the organ and a dts quality of sound i recomend you this album is something different i like it.!"

"Among the most beloved by the fans tracks by Rick are "Catherine Howard" and "Judas Iscaroit" with heavy church organ sound. Live performance of "Catherine Howard" - very impressive and emotional part of Rick`s conserts (I saw it in Moscow in 2001). So, what about the dream of the majority of the fans - Rick playing not sampled and synthesisered but real authentic church organ? Here it is!
Don`t be scared. The music is not that damn academic serious. Here is Rick. You would easily recognize his manner of playing. Sometimes it seems that he plays his favourite electronic keyboards.
Music is slow, light, meditative, ambiental, philosophic - as always Rick draws his dreamscapes that would remind you more of paintings by J. Turner than of music by J.S. Bach - "Soul Mortality", "Dawn and Dusk". "The All Mighty Almighty" sounds really heavy, you would feel the flesh of organ sound. "Da Vinci Variations" - relaxing nocturnal New Age (or New World) style grand piano track.
What impress me most of all - included on CD video of Rick playing "Soul Mortality" - stunning show:)
P.S. I see on this page that people are buying "The Heritage Suite".
Believe me, it is good but not the best piano album by Rick.
Try nocturnal "Night Airs" or "Sea Airs". More dynamic and less ambiental are "Preludes to a Century".
I also like his New Age (New World) meditative ambiental music for electronic keyboards - "Aspirant Sunrise", "Aspirant Sunset", "Natural World Trylogy".
Interesting instrumental album - piano with background electronic keyboards by Rick Wakeman and Adam Wakeman (he plays also acoustic guitar here) "Romance of the Victorian Age".
If you like this slow philosophic kind of instrumental music you could try also "Angels Embrace" by Jon Anderson or "This Is My Life" by Nadia (label Neuronium)
"Excellent.. what else can i say...Rick Wakeman has always been one of the finest keyboardist in the world and in this album he shows one of the finest moments of his carreer. Playing the great organ of the Lincoln Cathedral(Lincolnshire England, The organ was opened by Sir Walter Parratt on St Hugh's Day 1898)Rick shows how refined is his style and how he enjoyed the playing of such a wonderfull instrument.The music for organ played in this album was written specifically for the instrument itself and , as Rick said : "...is based around a combination of fixed notation and improvisation fuelled by pure emotion".
The album also includes a piece for grand PIANO (The Da Vinci Variations) very mellow and beautifull.
The second disk is an enhanced disk with headphone surround stereo tracks and an additional DTS 5.1 Track. It also includes a video of his performance of the track called "Soul Mortality".
A very enjoyable album and a wonderfull addition to the vast Rick Wakeman's catalog.. close your eyes and enjoy the beauty."
A must for fans of pipe organs

"While some of the playing seems more attuned to keyboards than a pipe organ located in a cathdral with heavy reverb, nevertheless it is a tour de force for Wakeman fans.
I always prefer his piano works but it was highly satisfying to hear him concentrate on bringing his talented abilities to this project. I would love to hear him develop an increasing relationship with large room venues with massive instruments and see if he couldn't breathe new life into a centuries old instrument.
