"I've been a Triumph/Rik Emmett fan for years. When I first learned that he was leaving Triumph to persue a solo career, THIS is exactly the type of album I expected (and was hoping for). Don't get me wrong - I thoroughly enjoyed Rik's first 3 solo albums (The Spiral Notebook has become one of my all-time favorites), but I was always entranced by his range and musicianship - the fact that the same Triumph album could contain a hard rock song, followed by a classical guitar instrumental (and one that will make any classical guitar-player's mouth drop in admiration) really show-cases just how versatile this guy is. Handiwork is a beautiful combination of the classical, and even to some extent jazz, prowess that Emmett embodies. The guitar work on this album is among the best I've ever heard, all wrapped up in Rik Emmett's own unique style (there's no mistaking that this is anything but a Rik Emmett album)."
Emmitt's "Handiwork" is simply amazing!

"This cd is a beautiful mix of jazz and classical music played by former Canadian Guitar God and lead singer of the band Triumph, Rik Emmett.
Emmett shows that he's far more than the hard rocking guitar player of the 80's. He's a renaissance man and virtuoso of the instrument and blends many styles of music with his fine playing.
This cd captures him at his best. The cd starts off with "Full Sail" a very jazz flavored track and is followed by more of the same with "Steady Burn", "Two Jigs" and "The Long Line".
The fifth track is a very Flamingo flavored "Libre Animado" and shows off Emmett's versatility. He also plays a little of the blues with "Knuckleball Sandwich". The man can play.
Get this cd and see for yourself."
