Guitarist Rik Wright is a passionate and forward-thinking composer and musician whose ensembles are modern innovative jazz groups that have thrilled audiences throughout the Pacific Northwest with their progressive and yet classical 21st century soundscapes. Rik Wright's sonic voyages are built on a foundation of classic jazz, but quickly sidesteps the typical confines the genre. Rik's newest CD "Even Odds" features the talents of many of Rik's favorite musicans including James DeJoie, Tony Grasso, Dan Blunck, James Whiton, Alicia Allen, Simon Grant, Walter White, Reuben Radding and Randy Doak. This Seattle-based troupe invigorates the improv jam ethos by incorporating touches of ambient textures in their modern jazz explorations. The ensemble?s passion for musical discovery and years of improvisational experience allows them to blend traditional instrumentation with impressionistic modern jazz influences.
