Beautiful, balanced Japanese flute music with water sounds

"Oriental Sunrise combines shakuhachi and koto flutes with water sounds (a stream and rain) and bells and chimes to create a beautiful, flowing, well-balanced CD. In four parts, the transitions from one track to the next are smooth. The mood is relaxing and peaceful throughout. This CD is excellent for meditation or unobtrusive background music and for massage. It centers me when I'm working and is a favorite with many of my clients. I recommend it unreservedly."

"This is my very favorite shakuhachi album and, in fact, one of my favorite albums of any genre. It is peaceful, contemplative, and avoids the discordant shrills that are sometimes a part of shakuhachi compositions. Highly recommended!"
"it was so nice to get some Zen music that didn't degenerate into piano and synthesizer fluff by the second song. I have been looking for something like this for my yoga sessions for over 2 years. This music stays traditional, and has a calming effect. Lovely transition between pieces! after awhile, the soothing music becomes a background murmur and allows me to focus upon meditation, writing, reading, etc."
A Wonderful contemplative work of art.

"A good friend let me borrow this CD and I was skeptical about it at first, but from the first listen I was carried away by the subtle serenity of it. The melodies are pure and calm, and the accompaniment of the natural sounds is just that - natural. It is very easy to transport oneself to another place while listening to this. I particularly like listening to it on Friday evenings to clear the stress of the week and prepare for the weekend."

"This CD really delivers. I do not use it for meditation, instead I listen to it at work. I have it on in the background and I feel my mind relaxing and working more efficiently and calmy. I have two other Riley Lee CDs, but this one is the best."
