"This enchanting compact-disc begins with the solumn introduction to the Pan Voyavoda suite. The introduction gradually amounts to the memorable krakowiak, followed by the nocturne, mazurka, and polonaise. The rest of this disc contains some outstanding selections of music such as the melodic Overture on Russian Themes, the popular Sadko, and the overture to May Night. Although the musical selections on this disc are extremely tasteful, some of the aspects aren't so hot. It is clearly evident that in this recording of the Pan Voyavoda suite the conducter was lax in tempo. The movements of the Pan Voyavoda suite that are traditionally performed at a moderate pace are played a little on the sluggish side in this recording. Do not be discouraged by this small factor. The performances of the other musical compositions on this disc are much more clean, making this disc well worth the purchase price. For only six bucks you can't go wrong. So if you have never heard any of these musical pieces before, I highly recommend this disc. Maybe it isn't the best recording out there, but for the price it is well worth the purchase."
