CD ReviewsRingo's Still Rocking W. Hetfield | Lewes, DE United States | 07/27/2006 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is a really strong offering from Ringo. Not a lot of guest shots on it (Chryssie Hynde is the main one). Everytime I put this one on I think "This is such a strong CD!" It's like I can't believe it - but it's true - one of my favorite new CD's to come out in the past year. Oh My Lord is a great tune - I love it. One of the reviews of his last all-star tours mentioned that his recent offerings and studio band are strong enough to warrent just touring with them. I agree. Ringo is the "stealth Beatle" now. Making great music that is a well kept secret. Four and a half stars." Turn it up even w/ the windows rolled down! Follett R | Chicago, IL | 01/30/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "O.K. I admit it- I love Ringo's stuff. Especially all of his albums from Time Takes Time up to his latest, Y Not.
However, raise your hand if you are a Ringo fan who might tend to turn the volume down on some of his music if your are at a stop light with the windows rolled down. I mean, "La De Da" from Vertical Man is not a bad song. However, you won't find me cranking it while stopped in traffic (especially with a car load of teenage girls next to me). However, you can take pride in blasting anything from Choose Love, in any situation. Folks, this is real rock and it's great stuff. There is not one slow moment on this one. Great from start to finish- Almost shockingly so. Simply put, this is his best album. Yes, even including the 1973 "Ringo" album. Come to think of it, I like any of his last 5 albums better than the Ringo album. So, if you haven't had the pleasure yet get this one and crank it unashamedly!" |
