Electronica Zombie

(4 out of 5 stars)
"The gathering of three Industrial Rock powerhouses - Rob Zombie, Rammstein & Charlie Clouser (from NIN fame) - might produce what? More Industrial Rock?
No. Actually, british techno/electronica stylings are written all over these tracks. For example:
Track #1 (Dragula) is Big Beat meats Rob Zombie; sort of a heavier version of the Prodigy ("Firestarter" comes to mind). A slightly modified version of this track appeared on the "Matrix" soundtrack.
Track #3 (How to Make a Monster) is Big Beat again; this time around, it has a more hip-hopish, Chemical Brothers feel to it.
Track #7 (The Ballad of Ressurrection Joe) sounds like trip-hop to me ears.
Track #8 (What Lurks on Channel X?) has shades of the Prodigy's "Smack my Bitch Up", starting when the verse kicks in.
Track #11 (Superbeast, mix #2) is an interesting drum n' bass version of this song. Actually, I prefer it than the original version. No wonder that's the version used on the "Superbeast" video."
A very interesting remix album!

"This album contains remixes of the songs on Hellbilly Deluxe. It came wtih a nice soft case, well decorated with Rob's art, as well as photos from live performances. I liked most of the remixes, although I liked the "Hot Rod Herman" remix of "Dragula" from the Matrix soundtrack than the one included on this album. Although the original album already had a techno sound to it, "American Made Music to Strip By" has its own original sound. This is an album every Zombie fan should have."
OK REMIXES

"Better or worse than original song?: 1. Dragula Mix: Better. The dragging lyrics are awesome for Dragula. 2.Superbeast Mix: Better. The techno adds a wonderful beat. 3.How To Make A Monster Mix: AWESOME!!! This remix is so much better than the slow paced original version. 4.Living Dead Girl Mix: Good. The beat stays much better than the original. 5.Spookshow Baby Mix: GREAT! Rammstein is awesome for this mix. 6.Demonoid Phenomenon Mix: Worse. People like the old metal better. 7.Resurrection of... Mix: Ok. The old one is still better in ways. 8.What Lurks on Channel X Mix: Awful. One of the worst tracks. Not catchy in anyway at all. 9.Meet the Creeper Mix (1):Ok. Remix gets old quick. 10.Return of the... Mix: Worse. The old one was so much longer and better. 11.Superbeast (2) Mix: Ok. Clouser has better remixes. 12. Meet the Creeper (2) Mix: Good. It;s fun to listen to as the last track. Overall, Zombie gets four stars. I minused a star because there is no new material."
Awsome Cd but not necessarily heavy

"This Cd rocks. It is an awsome mix of techno and metal. It definately is not as heavy as Hellbilly Deluxe. They are on the same level though. Only 1 or 2 songs lack the charm of the original. Dragula, How to make a Monster, Both Superbeasts, spookshow baby & living dead girl are as good as the originals or better. The Dragula re-mix definately takes the cake as the most well done re-mix on the cd. If you liked the heavy creepy feeling of the original don't get it, but if you like metal-techno this is the cd to get."
Best remix album I've heard

"Charlie Clouser of NIN fame along with Rammstein went to town with Rob's Hellbilly Delux, and what came out IMO is an improvment on the original albums songs, very heavy and catchy. Standout tracks are the Dragula remix (of coarse), How to Make a Monster, and the LDG remix. If you're a fan of industrial-dance music like KMFDM you'll love this album."
