There's no description adequate...just listen and love it.

"It is the best Passion written in the 20th century, bar none, and I've listened to or performed pretty much all of them. I hate to say it but it beats Arvo Part's Passio hands down. It is a modern piece that uses textures and tones not to challenge the listener but to place the listener in a state that corresponds wonderfully to the emotions behind the Passion. The Crucifixion scene is terrifying, as it should be. The last words of Christ are moving and not cloying or overdone. It's a great piece for anyone, regardless of your faith or feelings about religion. It's a human passion, much like Brahms' is a human requiem."
