Excellence and good taste; deeply moving Christmas music

"I first bought this offering on 33 rpm discs in - perhaps - 1956. My children grew up with this music and loved it every year. Though I have about twenty different recordings of Christmas music, this is the one we always return to. It is the standard by which all others may be measured. Excellent!"

"This wonderful collection from the 50's is spoiled by an abysmal mono transfer by RCA. Some of the selections are available on "A Festival Of Carols / Robert Shaw Chorale" in a much better stereo transfer, and the album also includes the original "Many Moods of Christmas" Shaw album."
