"Roberto Aussel (who I occasionally know, as being one of his students) has dug up into the deep acheology of the Baroque lute music, with two (outstandingly beautiful and generic)compositions from D.Buxtehude and S.L.Weiss, in addition to D.Scarlatti's sonata works ; in a single CD, Roberto has succeeded to encapsulate and convey a masterful, albeit incredibly gentle and subtle statement through his guitar. His instrument and disposition sound altogether mysteriouly (?) tuned up to a special, timeless occasion, while retrospectively bringing up emotions and feelings from a definitely not-so-distant epoch. My recommendation is to listen over and over again to this music, get pervaded by its entrancing and charming beauty, and so-to-speak, to become faithful to Weiss' l' "infidele" suite !.. Our next century will probably be compelled to re-discover compositional/interpretational treasures of such breath, quality and harmonic depth - so stay tuned and keep being prepared !..Emmanuel Desurvire"
