"In Short:Pros
1: A relatively unkown but classic album.
2: A contemporary of such classic guitarists as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Richie Blackmore
2: Strong blues rock fundamentals.
3: Variety in the tracks as to sound, tempo, and delivery.
4: Trower?s best album in my opinion, the best one to introduce a new listener to his work.Cons:
1: Perhaps not as much depth as Eric Clapton or Stevie Ray Vaughn but that is a matter of taste and opinion.
2: Hard to find in the U.S. at the time of this review in 2002.
3: Not digitally remastered yet to my knowledge, resulting in a somewhat lower sound quality, it would most likely be even better if properly converted to digital format (this is Victims Of The Fury I?m referring to which is an older record he has much more recent recordings as well)... If there is any drawback to this album it is that it seems too short even though it is a standard length recording, each song on the record is a good one that you can listen to frequently if you like this style of music. In all honesty when compared to the more modern blues rock guitar wizards like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robin does sound old school on this recording and I would not necessarily put him in the same league as Eric Clapton or Jimi Hendrix either. I would definitely say I see influences that remind me of the two artists I just mentioned though. Trower?s guitar style on this recording is consistent with the time in which he made it but his style compared with Clapton for instance is more on the Rock n Roll side and further from the purist blues influence... Trower is a viable alternative and worth checking out.The CD I have is not a digitally remastered recording so the sound quality is not as good as if it were. It is nevertheless at least as good as the original vinyl at least and still sounds good on a car or home stereo. The thing is if you do end up liking Trower's music he has kept recording right into the late 1990?s so there are recordings using more modern techniques available..."
