Synopsis
Album Description These four Eugene, OR lads are set to wage war on their namesake genre. They have raw rock smarts beyond their years. Strong songwriting and self-production proved these guys jumped straight out their mom's gut clutching the Rolling Stones' "Exile On Main Street" in one hand, the MC5's "High Times" in the other. Constant prodding from Gearhead Records led to some of their demos coming out on vinyl as "The High School Sessions" EP, followed by "The Weak Blame The Strong" EP, both contained herein as "The Two EPs". They've shared stages with The Donnas, Hunches, New Bomb Turks, Moments In Grace, Kill Radio, and more, honing their slinky glam punk. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsMy face has been thoroughly melted off. Hayley Alice | Eugene, OR | 04/20/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "After seeing the Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers time and time again live I was extremely excited to grab hold of a copy of this CD. When I first listened to it I found it was even BETTER than I had initially expected. This CD contains songs everybody knows, like "Funny Little Feeling" and "Anthem" with less known older recordings like "Shut Your Eyes." Encompassing such critical points in the Soldier's musical careers, this is a must buy. Seriously. Do it. Do it! DOITDOITDOITDOIT!!! " Sweet J. Johnson | Kansas City | 05/29/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I just saw these guys live and after talking to their basist i had to buy their CD. I love it! Atheme, Everybody Gottas Live, all the songs are awesome. If you have a chance to see them live do it their lead singer has so much energy its hard not to like these guys! Get this CD and see them live!!" Oregon Does it Again... H. Klinger | Sacramento, CA USA | 06/08/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "Eugene, Portland, Salem; these cities bring us some awesome bands, and the Rock n Roll Soldiers are no different. First hearing the two E.P.s on Gearhead Records, and then the collection on Atlantic, the boys have really grown on me. They are fighting the fight, and winning the battle of Rock N Roll. I am still taken back with "Lay Down and Die" and I can't believe it isn't in an A: Commericial (I predict Beer or Cars), B: TV Show or C: Constant Rotation as a video on TV.
This band is going to blow up in the next 6 months." |
