"Speedo's Army cried out in unison, "Let there be a CD version of 'Hot Charity!'" and thus it was so. Finally, after years of clamoring by the fans, this masterpiece by San Diego's favorite sons is available for those of us without record players. I have wanted this since the first time I heard "Scream, Dracula, Scream," and I am a very happy man at this moment. "Hot Charity" showcases Rocket From The Crypt in their finest time period, 93-95, when they recorded this album, "Circa: Now!" and the aforementioned "Scream....." From the opening tune, an amazing instrumental called "Pushed," to the punk tendencies of "Poison Eye" and "Lorna Doom," to the deliberate and moody "Feathered Friends," this album runs the gamut of Rocket styles. This is a must, not only for Rocket fans, but for anyone that likes all of the new "garage rock" that has surfaced recently. With the exception of The White Stripes, Rocket makes those bands look like a bunch of hacks. Think punk rock with actual songwriting capabilities (sorry, Greg Graffin and Brett Gurewitz, you guys are the exception). Think The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion with horns. Just think good ol' fashioned rock."

"I'll keep this review short and sweet. If you like Rocket from the Crypt buy this album. It's as good as anything they have released."
