His legend as the undisputed Godfather of this genre-which fuses a homegrown mix of frenzied house beats with frenetic hip-hop chants-continues to grow with the popularity of his music. His breakout track 'Dance My Pain Away', written about in Spin and other important urban music publications, has been featured in episodes of HBO's The Wire, MTV's Rob & Big, and 2 Nonesuch-released soundtracks of music from The Wire. In 2008 the track will appear on the HBO documentary 'Douglass High' as well as several feature films. Before now the back catalogue of Lee's work containing the musical gems that have defined the rise of Baltimore Club from its homegrown roots to national acclaim has been impossible to find outside of Baltimore.
