"This music is Stewart's classic material from the early and mid 70's...when rock and blues were mixed with his terrific voice. I would also recommend Atlantic Crossing, although none of it's music is included in this collection. Later collections (through the late-70's and 80's) are really inferior to what we have on this CD."
NOT ESSENTIAL, BUT GOOD ENOUGH

"If you're a die-hard Rod fan, you'll want to purchase his box sets, or even better, every single album he put out. If you're just the casual listener interested in hearing Rod before he changed his musical style, this CD is definitely a great purchase. Every well-known (or noteworthy) song he did during the Mercury-era is here, and they are all pure listening enjoyment. Rod's husky vocals, the awesome electric guitars, and the gorgeous fiddles and mandolins make each song--fast or slow--classics in their own unique right."
