"The title of Roger's new CD works on many levels. The title track opens the CD, one of the many songs on the recording written by Roger Wallace himself. To me this one short song shows all the elements of Roger's brilliance. He starts off with the most traditional theme in the most traditional form of heart-break honky-tonk and sculpts an image with the same clay as everyone else, but in his own unique form. The timing of the notes, the rhythm of the words, the starts and stops in the flow, all seem to mimic the those moments in life where you realize the worst and your heart and the world seem to stop. Where the pain is just too much for even time to bear. This is a quieter, more pensive recording than the first two released by Roger. This softer side of the man nonetheless provides plenty of opportunities for the Texas two-step. There is a delightful duet with country-blues diva Miss Toni Price on the recording. Wow, these two voices are a perfect match. I hope they do this again and again.Roger has a dynamic, rich and distinctive voice. His voice is a fine instrument and he uses it here to enhance the substance of the songs as his interpretation of the emotion and content of the expressed ideas... from clear tones to an exquisite "catch" all in one swoop.Get this CD, you will be glad you did."

"If you enjoy country music thats full of soul and swing your gonna love this album. It's hard to say what makes this album so great. Roger pens songs that are timeless only the way 1940's country songs are. Next would be the fact that this album has nearly every style of country music on it, Western Swing, classic ballads some rockabilly and alot of beer drinkin honky tonkers. Not one peice of this album is not true country form a true country artist.
Every track is enjoyable but "Blow wind Blow" w/ Toni Price is an incredible duet. Only a guy that can belt them out can even try "Rose Marie" and Wallace nails it. One of my favorite ballads is "Theres a song in there somewhere". Well I could tell you about every track but I say you just buy the damn thing. If you live in Austin you better see this guy 'cause he's gonna be huge someday. Peace and Goodwill, Chris Slavensky"

""The Lowdown", the third release from this Knoxville Tn. native now Texan, is a compliation of songs written and co-written by Roger himself along with a Harlen Howard cover, "I'll Catch You When You Fall", which brings out his incredible talent as a singer/songwriter. His maturity shows through out the project in his true to life form of lovin' and hurtin' honky-tonk style Texas music. He even tosses in a jazzy tune,"You're A Heavenly Thing", a little Blues, "So, Long, Be Gone" to a toe-tapping instrumental, "Stranger Pickin'" which amplifies Roger's ablilty to deversify. Music that has been "lost" on today's commerical country radio is found on this project. If your a lover of great, true to form traditional country music, "The Lowdown" is a MUST HAVE!!!!! R.W.
