"TRI-O know exactly what they are saying when they say this is "un homenaje al amor." These three, very young Columbianos are also paying homage to a tradition that was made most popular by los reyes de el bolero, Los Panchos. Concepetually this is a very interesting CD in that TRI-O has created a romantic recording of 18 of the greatest boleros with the origianl Los Panchos recordings dating as far back as 1948! Essentially you get old school right next to these new interpreters of the most romantic music ever created. You don't need to speak Spanish, although it sure helps, to understand the universal language of love. Turn down the lights. All the tracks are excellent. The music alternates with a few tracks by Los Panchos and then TRI-O. The music is organized so that it comes across almost like a medley. The inolvidable "Sin Ti", one of my all time faves, is performed by Los Panchos as are other classics such as "Contigo" and the lovely, "Esperame en el cielo." The nostalgia is evident on this disc but the new interpreters give fresh life and breath to a tradition well worth preserving. TRI-O's voices are vibrant, harmonious, exuberant and stylistic, they create magical feelings with their passion for their love songs. The guitar work they display compliments their fine vocals, with some excellent solos on fret. Some favorite tracks by TRI-O are "Mi Magdalena", "Hasta Manana" and the duets with Massiel. Her voice is very ,very, sexy and it heats up when she sings counter to TRI-O. "Historia de un Amor" and "La Ultima Noche" are very fine examples of the passion Massiel infuses into the music. I'm glad I bought this CD and even happier that TRI-O are doing an excellent job carrying on music that is at least three generations old. These were the songs de mis abuelos y padres, preserved and reinterpreted by a new trio, TRI-O, desde Columbia para todo el mundo! Escuche lo bien, if you're very quiet you can hear your lovers heartbeat next to yours. Romanticos por Siempre."
