"I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE FOUND THIS RECORD, WHICH CONTAINS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RENDITIONS OF THE ROMEO AND JULIET STORY, SUNG IN PASSIONATE VERISMO STYLE BY ANGELO LO FORESE, ANTONIETTA MAZZA MEDICI AND MARIO ZANASI. IT ALSO CONTAINS EXCERPTS FROM ZANDONAI'S "CONCHITA", SUNG BY THE MET'S FIRST BLACK AIDA, GLORIA DAVY, AND GIUSEPPE CAMPORA. BOTH PIECES WERE RECORDED IN 1961, DURING THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF MELODRAMA IN SANREMO, WHICH WAS DEDICATED TO ZANDONAI. DAVY'S VOICE IS SIMPLY AMAZING. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY OTHER RECORDINGS BY HER SO THIS IS A REAL TREASURE. BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, GREAT SOUND, SINGING, CONDUCTING."
